The Performing Arts Center of Stockton University is seeking to fill a full-time Interim Associate Director to manage box office operations and front-of-house duties for all assigned events and performances, beginning as soon as possible.

This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

  • Direct Box Office operations and sales (online, walk-up, phone, mail) for PAC events and other campus or outside rentals, with regulated policies and PCI compliance. Provide a portable box office to additional venues on and off campus
  • Serve as the Ticketing Software Administrator. Manage users, create events, oversee patron database, design tickets, and troubleshoot software issues
  • Hire, supervise, and schedule student box office employees and ushers each season. Train and delegate tasks accordingly. Evaluate performance, provide feedback, and implement improved methods
  • Provide House Management for PAC events and other campus or outside rentals. Ensure adherence to theater fire codes and follow standards and procedures for audience safety and ADA compliance. Ensure performances commence in a timely fashion
  • Oversee accounting and fiscal management related to ticketing sales, ticketing software, box office operations (equipment and inventory), and staffing
  • Collaborate with the Director on social media marketing for the PAC
  • Event planning in collaboration with other units within Stockton and with community members and organizations
  • Supervise groups sales and arrange for school groups and homeschooled families to attend PAC educational programming (field trips). Assist with NJ bus funding.
  • Support sales goals and customer relations by constructively resolving all customer concerns and conflicts
  • In coordination with the Friends Association Board President, oversee volunteer ushers
  • Plan and present an annual Friends Dinner/Usher Orientation Training to certify that all volunteers and student ushers have the necessary training on the best practices in audience safety
  • Track donation and Friends Association membership fees. Place donor acknowledgments in Playbill. Send receipts to donors for tax-deductible contributions
  • Staff and direct merchandise sales. Oversee revenue split between the artist and PAC based on executed contracts
  • Coordination and staffing of the concessions stand. Order/supervise inventory
  • Manage and process community requests for ticket donations. Provide acknowledgment and donation letters for use in silent auctions and fundraisers
  • Continually review and reevaluate box office and house management; develop and implement effective work methods
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and the Dean, School of Arts and Humanities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday based on event calendar
  • Minimum of two years ticketing software and box office management required
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • Minimum 2 years customer service experience
  • Job requires long periods of standing during performance, lifting up to 25#, climbing stairs throughout the theatre and backstage, as well as being able to move freely in low lit area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • House management experience a plus, as is knowledge or background in theatre
  • Experience with handling money and credit card transactions
  • Budget management experience
  • Strong computer technology experience
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
